RISE Utah Opportunity Centers: Opening Doors to Independence

Person-Driven Support for Real-World Skills

The foundation of every Opportunity Center is its commitment to empowering individuals to take an active role in their own development. Each person is encouraged to choose Day Services activities that fit their interests and ambitions. Day-to-day tasks can open up whole new worlds of independence. Participants can practice everyday life skills like washing dishes, organizing rooms, or even budgeting for groceries.

There’s also the chance for individuals to expand their digital literacy using our computer centers. For those who might enjoy a calm, soothing environment, the sensory spaces offer relaxation and sensory engagement that support overall well-being. There are exercise and fitness rooms for staying active, and plenty of opportunities for community outings, group activities, and exploring new hobbies.

Building Employment Skills and Preparing for the Workplace

Are you thinking about finding a job? Our Opportunity Centers are a great place to start building those important work habits. We help with employment skills training, which includes everything from crafting a resume to practicing interviews and learning workplace etiquette. 

In our career centers, participants can set their own pace for learning about different jobs, building time management habits, and developing communication skills. We also provide training and coaching once adults find a job. Every small step supports the bigger goal for each individual to grow in confidence and contribute their skills in the workplace.
