3 Reasons We Are Thankful for Our DSPs
At RISE Services, Inc. Utah, we wish to express how grateful we are for our Direct Support Professionals (DSPs). Day in and day out, they serve children and adults living with developmental disabilities with patience, understanding, and compassion. Our DSPs are dedicated to enhancing the lives of the people they work with as well as investing in their personal growth. 1. Strong Work Ethic
One of the many reasons we appreciate our DSPs is their willingness to work hard on behalf of those living with developmental disabilities. When an individual is looking for a job, there’s so much more that goes into helping them find meaningful employment than filling out an application and sending them to an interview. Our amazing DSPs assist by helping them create resumes, prepping them for interviews, providing on-the-job coaching, and so much more. Once the adults they work with find jobs that fit their skills and preferences, our DSPs will celebrate with them and continue supporting and coaching them while the adults are employed.
2. Compassionate Care
When most people think of the services a DSP provides, they mention life skills inside the home like meal prep, cooking, and personal hygiene. While helping with in-home skills is an important part of our DSPs’ responsibilities, their care also extends outside the walls of the residence. Ensuring a good quality of life includes learning how to interact with society, which is why we are passionate about taking individuals out into the community and participating in different social activities. Outings and interactions can be both rewarding and challenging, which is why our DSPs are especially patient and compassionate.
3. Amazing Dedication
Working with individuals who are living with developmental disabilities requires understanding and dedication. Each person’s disabilities are unique. There is no one-size-fits-all program that can effectively help all people with disabilities. This is where our remarkable DSPs take action. Each individual has a specific service plan that can assist them with various parts of their lives like living independently, making friends, or getting involved in their community. That plan may need to be changed or altered to better assist the individuals we support. As long as RISE Servics, Inc. Utah serves individuals with disabilities, our DSPs will continually support, encourage, and teach, regardless of how long it takes or how much the plan changes.
