At RISE Services, Inc., we believe that growth and opportunity take place in a loving and secure family setting. For children in foster care, a stable and safe environment is a must. RISE provides programs, services, and supports to help families and caretakers create this safe and caring environment. One of those supports is our Respite Foster Care program.

What is Respite Care?

Foster Care Homes for Children with Disabilities in Utah

When full-time Professional Parents need to travel or take some time away, our Respite Foster providers step in to help. Respite Foster Care parents provide part-time, substitute foster care. They are required to go through the exact same licensing process, including a criminal background check, as full-time Foster Parents. Respite providers decide for themselves what level of care they are ready to handle. Plus, it’s a great way to help an individual in need without committing to becoming a full-time provider.

Respite care is a paid position, and the amount of compensation depends on the level of care the child requires and the length of time respite care is needed. All Respite Care providers must be at least 21 years of age or older.

Professional Parenting, Foster Care & Host Homes

Along with our Respite Care services, we also provide Professional Parenting services, Foster Care, and Host Homes.

  • A Professional Parent is a state-certified caregiver that provides in-home support to an individual diagnosed with a developmental disability or mental health condition.
  • A Foster Parent is a state-certified caregiver who provides in-home supports to a minor that has been placed into their home by the state.
  • Host Homes provide semi-independent living arrangements for adults with developmental disabilities.
